Brick pavers and hardscape.
Driveways and Entryways
A driveway is the only hardscape on the property that carries a vehicle, and it is the first thing anyone sees. Those two jobs pull in different directions, and the build has to answer both.
Built for vehicle load
A driveway base is not a patio base. It goes deeper, it gets compacted in lifts, and the paver is chosen for it. Clay pavers have the highest compressive strength and hold their color because the color is the fired clay itself, not a surface coat. Concrete pavers give you more pattern and color options and take a sealer well.
The apron and the edges
Where the driveway meets the street and where it meets the garage slab are the two places a driveway shows its age first. Both get planned, not improvised. Edge restraint runs the full open edge so the field cannot creep sideways under turning tires.
Entryways and walkways
The path from the driveway to the front door usually gets treated as an afterthought. Run the same material through it and the front of the house reads as one thing instead of three.
What the job includes
- Base built and compacted for vehicle load
- Apron and garage transition planned
- Edge restraint the full length
- Clay or concrete paver
- Pattern that reads from the street
- Walkway tied into the same material
Exactly what is and is not included goes in writing on your estimate.
How it goes
You will know what is happening at each stage
Three stages, and we tell you which one you are in.
On-site estimate
We come to you, measure, look at what is there now, and find out where the water goes. You get a written estimate that lists the material, the work, and what is not included.
Installation
Removal and haul-off, excavation to stable ground, a compacted base, then the bedding layer and the paver. Edge restraint on the open edges, polymeric sand in the joints, and the site cleaned down at the end.
Sealing and care
Cleaning, re-sanding the joints, and sealing when the surface is ready for it. This is the part that decides whether you are maintaining a deck in a few years or rebuilding one.
